Ross is good but he throws an obscenely high amount of sliders and has horrible mechanics. I know all pitchers are risks but Ross has more red flags and is not the guy I'd want this team to invest long term in + give up young assets to get him.

I'm not so sure.  Street has a somewhat reasonable contract (team option of $7 million for next year), and I think we probably value Lindsey and Rondon more than their "real" value, simply because the system doesn't have any impact prospects.

I don't value them as impact players...I just don't think they need to deal both of them for a reliever. I'm all for dealing Lindsey or Rondon to get Street, or one of them + some reliever prospect, ideally

 

losing both for just a reliever would kinda suck, regardless of what their ceilings are

the A's traded this guy for two guys that they DFA'd.  That is a bit telling to me.  If this guy really was an ace, and came with no flags, you think they would have given him to the padres for essentially minor league depth?
