And now, a word from our sponsors....

The AL West has easily been the best division in baseball this season. The division-leading Oakland Athletics own baseball’s best record at 59-36, and their run differential of +145 trumps all other teams. In fact, the division has three of the top four run differentials in the league, with the Los Angeles Angels owning the second best number at +89, and the Seattle Mariners fourth at +57. Right off the bat there is an excited division matchup in the AL West, with a home series on the Angels schedule against the Mariners. Angels tickets are averaging $48.50 for a 17 percent decrease from the Angels season average.

7/18 SEA Hisashi Iwakuma vs. LAA Jered Weaver | Avg. Price: $63.50 | Get-in Price: $13

Everyone is excited for the start of the second half in Los Angeles, with the first game of the series costing the most. The average price of the game is $63.50 and the get-in price is $13. Jered Weaver starts for the Angels and his numbers look solid up to this point with a 10-6 record and a 3.45 ERA in a team-leading 125.1 innings. He left a game after two innings on July 7 with back issues, but rebounded to pitch seven innings of two run ball against the Texas Rangers on the 12th.

7/19 SEA Felix Hernandez vs. LAA Garrett Richards | Avg. Price: $47 | Get-in Price: $12

Prices have a pretty decent drop for the second game, despite arguably being the superior pitching matchup. Felix Hernandez has been the best pitcher in baseball this season, and is the runaway leader for the AL Cy Young at the moment. Meanwhile Garrett Richards has been a revelation for the Angels. He’s put up stellar numbers across the board, and has posted a top 10 ERA, FIP and WAR. The game is averaging $47 a ticket and has a get-in price of $12.

7/20 SEA Chris Young vs. LAA Tyler Skaggs | Avg. Price: $35 | Get-in Price: $5

There might not be a pitcher advanced stats hates more than Chris Young. His fly ball rate is off the charts, but he doesn’t give up an obscene amount of home runs. He has a pretty poor K/BB ratio, and predominantly throws a mid-80s mph fastball, but has a 3.21 ERA in 109.1 innings, and strands runners at an obscene rate of 82.7 percent. Fielding independent numbers have him at a low 5.00 ERA. Tyler Skaggs pitches for the Angels and he’s been a bit of the opposite. Fielding independent numbers have him at a respectable 3.55, while he actually has a 4.50 ERA. The average price of Angels vs Mariners tickets for the game is $35 and the get-in price is $5.
