Speaking of which, the ESPN comment sections are of course filled with Tiggers fans whining about the award not being given to Cabrera. As justification, I've heard, among other equally ludicrous arguments, that Cabrera was involved in more defensive plays (of course he was, he's a first baseman), and that Cabrera has more career hits than Trout.

That was kind of silly how they made everything about Jeter, even Trout winning the MVP.  That whole Wainwright thing was hilarious.

 

In terms of disrespect though, I was waiting for Trout to say, "thank you" or something when they handed him the keys to the Corvette...
