I understand why Israel is pissed since Hamas killed 3 of their kids but it seems to me that they are beginning to lose the moral high ground in this latest escalation.

"The warnings followed what Gaza medical officials said was the deadliest night yet in which dozens of Palestinians were killed, pushing the campagin's death toll past 160 with more than 1,000 people injured.

A U.N. humanitarian affairs office in the Palestinian enclave stated that 70% of the Palestinian fatalities since Monday have been civilians, of whom 30% were children."

Right now it's more about the rockets. Hamas needs to get a grip or let the Israelis come back and handle it. They can't allow the constant firings and then cry when the Israelis respond with a bitch slap.

Israel has been under constant attack since the moment the land was given to them.  When shit escalates the highest they need to respond.

 

How would you guys expect the US to react if we were attacked by terrorists several times a week?  People expecting Israel to show restraint have no understanding of the situation.  If it were us, we would have decimated them.

They got what they wanted several years ago, Gaza. There is not a single Israeli living there anymore. Everything was fine until those three teens were killed and hundreds of rockets starting raining down on Israel from Gaza.

 

This is all on Hamas. The rockets stop, and the Israeli offensive will probably stop too.

Can't defend either one. Both sides have blood on their hands and it's a conflict fueled by hate.

Not that it excuses anything, but Hamas' attacks are much less damaging and deadly than the advanced weapons of war that Israel possesses. They can't play the victim role, there's murderers on both sides

Arabs have been trying to kill Jews for thousands of years.  Israel gets bashed for defending themselves.  Like my post said earlier, if it was the US, nobody would be upset, but because it is Israel people bash them.

Cute, you point out one instance.  Every community has their hate crimes.  That doesn't constitute a history of hate.

Israel arrested them. That is consistent with what Palestinians would do under the same circumstances

The fact is, since Isreal was created, their people have been under attack yet the liberals and anti semites of the world expect them to accept it without retaliation and further continue to accept the people that are doing the killings into their country.

 

People say that Israel is oppressing Palistine but they aren't.  Palistine is oppressing Palistine.  Their leaders are terrorist figureheads, they do nothing to better the people of their nation.  The surrounding countries also don't want anything to do with them.  You never hear about Jordan oppressing Palistine yet they won't let Palistinians into their country either.

 

If Palistine really wanted to change they would elect someone that wanted to improve the infrastructure, create schools and jobs.  Instead they elect whoever will allow the terrorist acts against Israel to continue.

It was a retaliatory act for what happened to the three Israeli teens. It is relevant to the discussion.

70% may be civilians but what percentage of strikes don't hit military targets or terrorist leaders? It's extremely small for how densely populated Gaza is. Israelis actually send out warnings before attacking an area to give civilians a chance to get out. Palestinians use their women and children as human shields. 

 

And it's never quiet there. You only hear about violence there when it's committed by Israel. This is for 2 reasons, 1. It's dog bites man when Palestinians launch rockets from Gaza. 2. They aren't effective. This doesn't mean they aren't trying to hit targets in Israel and kill people. They are just bad at it. There are rockets shot into Israel nearly every day. I was there during a "cease fire" and went to a town about 10 miles from the border. There was an air raid siren that day and for 7 of the previous 8. 

 

If Mexico were launching rockets at San Diego to try to get back their land they lost in the Mexican American war they wouldn't exist as a country for 5 mute minutes.

justified or not at some point Isreal needs to stop and let the violence of the opposition speak for itself rather than perpetrating this ad nauseam... they are just as guilty at this point, how is started or what made it keep going is almost moot at this point when both sides are endlessly retaliating for things most of them werent laive for the whole thing at the beginning.

That's why I think it would be beneficial for Palestine to be a recognized country. Then when they pull that rocket fire bullshit Israel can bring it up to NATO and then nothing will get done but that's not the point

Its hard to sympathize with ones loss of life when the other suffers the same tragedies.  Justified or not, they are both committing atrocities.

I fully support Israel's right to defend itself as i would any nation, but that does not include retaliatory strikes.. that's vengeance, not defense.
