They were tied up and each shot in the back of the head. The 15-year old who survived (with a fractured skull from the bullet) played dead, then alerted authorities that he was on his way to kill other relatives. She saved several lives by her courage. He was looking for his ex-wife, who had a restraining order against him.

One thing Texas does well.  They don't let death row inmates linger too long.  Hopefully he gets a corrupted batch of drugs.

She's expected to make a full recovery so I guess there is a sliver of good news in all of this.

His court-appointed attorney claims his client is suffering from a mental illness and doesn't know what he's done. Where have we heard that before?

 

Now the killer collapses in court this morning and has to be removed in a wheelchair. I wonder how real that is.

You just know an insanity defense is coming, but I don't imagine that will play well in this case. He planned this massacre, even used a FedEx uniform as a disguise to get into the house. Tied them up and shot them, one by one, when they refused to tell him where his ex was. Premeditated to a tee.
