Roth up, Rasmus down, Hill DFA

It shouldn't be. Roth has been fantastic in AA and Rasmus wouldn't be available to pitch for a couple of days. If Santiago gets in trouble tonight the Angels bullpen would be spent.

Roth earned it. I wouldn't be surprised if he nailed down an extended relief or LOOGY role in the pen. He may even push for a rotation spot sometime.

He has nothing left to learn in the minors. I like how he's pitching to contact and having hitters get themselves out now. Smart.

Well that's one way to spin "He can't strike guys out"

I am obviously rooting for Roth, but I just can't imagine he can succeed at the big league level. His k rate is insanely low, and we walks plenty of guys too.

I'd love to know if there was a guy with a comparable minor league career who actually managed a successful major league career.

I'll never forget the Rich Hill era

On the Angels all-time list, I'd put his tenure right above Daniel Stange and Bret Prinz. He's just behind Dusty Bergman, though

Daniel Stange was able to get a few outs at least. That's more than I can say about Rich Shill.
