Sosh and Dipoto etc have talked up Calhoun in the offseason and even during this season. Mike talking about how they really like him atop the order as the ideal lead off hitter. I'd be stunned if he's traded. After this season, and especially in 2016, Trout/Pujols/Hamilton/Wilson/Weav all see their salaries increase since the deals were back-loaded, so it'll be even more important for this team to get quality production for cheap elsewhere. Calhoun provides that for them, a good player who will be cheap for awhile

Yeah, I have no idea who any of these people are. Maybe they are getting a scoop but I'm not going to think much of it for now

 

All I know is, if the deal is legit and they are getting Campana and Thatcher, Halos are/should not be giving up much. We're talking about a lefty specialist and some minor league depth/backup OFer

I'm legit worried that the Angels are going to panic and trade Calhoun, Cron, and a pitching prospect for Price.

Why would Dipoto trade a valuable position player who's under club control for the next 5 years for half a season of a LOOGY?

Hopefully he wouldn't.  But Green ISNT really getting any playing time here.  And we've faced a bunch of lefties recently.

I'm not. They let Ibanez go to make room for Cron to get everyday AB's. They aren't going to gut the offense for another SP when they are 4th in the AL in SP ERA

I would take all of this with a grain of salt. None of the official angel beat writers or national writers have mentioned this trade. I saw the rumors online and thought it was worth posting. Hopefully if it is true, it's not just for Thatcher and Campana
