There is no war going on there.  It's business as usual:  corruption, drug (and other) violence, poverty...the usual.  The Obama administration is spinning it to make it sound like suddenly, these central American countries were dangerous because of an outbreak of violence.  But really, it's the same level of violence since the late '80s and probably a little less.  Nothing exceptional is going on.

 

So, do you notice a pattern with this administration?  Remember that the Benghazi consulate attack was blamed on a very hard to find video?  Remember when the IRS scandal was because of a couple of low level pencil pushers in the Cincinnati office? 

 

There is a long and clear pattern of deflection.  No ownership is ever taken for the problems caused by this administration.  It's always Bush, the republicans, or a video, or a sudden rise in violence or other 'unforseen' circumstances.  Truly amazing how Obama takes no ownership.

 

 

On the local news tonight they mentioned that another busload of children is due in Murietta late tonight. WTH is going on?!?!

 

Where are these kids going to end up? Who's going to look after them??

 

This whole thing doesn't make any sense. Is there some horrible war going in in Central America right now that everyone is fleeing from, because I haven't heard anything about it. And how did these children get all the way here on their own from Guatemala, etc??

When something is transparent you can't see it. DC got the definition correct, it's the public that didn't realize what they wanted was an opaque government, nothing hidden from view.

4 seconds turns into four pages of me trying to explain every single detail of what I might (or might not) be speculating are the forces behind this fiasco.

 

There are no details, just a feeling that there's more than meets the eye here. Thousands of little children don't walk from Central America to Texas without a lot of help, and some of that could be coming from higher-ups.

I lived in the OC for 40+ years, there are plenty of hispanics in pretty much every city there.  Including NB and LN.

An impotent president.

A stagnant, ineffective congress that is so out of touch and often seems more concerned about keeping their jobs than doing their jobs.

Voters that don't show up or keep re-electing the same terrible reps to congress election after election after election.

There's more than enough blame to divide between these three.
