They really do look down every avenue.  As for the Castro talk, thank goodness the Angels didn't deal for him.  He's a solid catcher, but not so much better than Conger that I'd be willing to part ways with Santiago.

The Santiago bit is interesting because it shows that the Halos/Sox were talking about a potential deal involving Santiago prior to the winter meetings.

Astros also must be kicking themselves about not doing a Bud Norris deal with the Pirates. Could have gotten Glasnow in that deal. That alone is better than the crap they got from O's in the end

That's what I was saying. Sox wanted Castro and were offering Santiago to the Astros, who weren't feeling that, so the Sox then asked about potentially flipping Bourjos to them for Castro in an obvious 3-way deal involving the Halos(with the Angels getting Santiago)
