Time to seriously consider trading Kendrick?

Recommended Posts

Im so sick of this clown.  Most unclutch and biggest choker ive ever seen.  Doesnt matter if its in the field or at the plate.  Any important situation at the field or any plate appearance with the game on the line is an automatic choke.  His postseason numbers are also atrocious.  He has not shown any improvement his whole career when it comes to working counts and improving his OBP.

Hes not bad for a 2nd basemen overall, but Green has a lot more value and doesnt appear to be the complete choker Kendrick is.  Can we please trade Howie for anything?  Im sure there is at least some team that can give us a good reliever for him.  Im just sick of watching this hack.

This loss is on Pujols. Kendrick and Wilson are both having seasons we would hope they would have. Pujols leaves everyone in RISP and can't even be bothered to run the bases when he occasionally pulls one through the left side of the infield.

I agree. The loss is on Pujols...

That said, I'm down to trade Howie for a legit BP arm or young starter. Give Green the gig.

I'd like to know Kendrick's numbers against top pitchers. Obviously top pitchers are going to have good numbers against guys, but I bet Howie's numbers are terrible. I could be totally wrong, but he seems to only hit bad pitching and choke against anyone decent. This is how Figgins was and I'll never forget his last series in the playoffs against the Yankees where he did nothing. You mainly face good pitching in the postseason. It's not worth having a guy like Kendrick if he's mediocre during the season and awful in the playoffs

thing is, its unrealistic to expect to have a star at every position. A year ago im sure we read somilar threads about aybar.

As far as green (who I really like), if we are bashing howie for defense....then I think green probably isnt the answer

Inconsistent career .290 hitter. Where was this thread when he hit the game winning double last Saturday? Howie made an error to cost us the game, it sucks but it happens. How about this thread?

Time to seriously consider trading CJ Wilson?

Who cares about his one clutch hit ever.  That was a situation where the game wasnt on the line.  Runner on 1st with 1 out in a tie game.  Put that runner at 3rd with 1 out I bet Howie strikes out.

If we had no other options at 2nd I understand keeping him.  But you know what youre going to get out of Howie.  Hes terrible against any respectable pitcher, terrible in the playoffs, the worst clutch hitter of all time literally and probably statistically, and makes bonehead plays in the field when the game is on the line.

Give 2B to Green and lets move on from this idiot.

How can somebody be something literally and probably statistically? Do you know what those words mean?

I don't care that Howie isn't a star, but I do think Green can bring as much as he can. So why not trade Howie for a strong bullpen arm and call it good? We fill a hole but don't lose anything. I know it probably won't happen this year, but Green looks like he will be a solid player and very similar to Kendrick. I've never been a huge Kendrick fan due to his demeanor. I don't think he's the worst player on the planet but games like today show me that he isn't helping this team reach it's goals

Dont get me wrong, im ok with trading howie (or cron, green, whoever) if it improves the team.

I wouldnt trade him just to trade him though. And I think a RP would be selling low, unless its a bonafide, trustable closer.

Yeah, I've said it before, but it Dipoto even seriously considers trading Howie for a reliever whose name isn't Kimbrel or Chapman(and that obviously isn't happening), he should be escorted out of the FO before he can do it.

Howie is a key member of the 2014 season.

It is remarkable how so many here think we:

1) can trade Kendrick for a quality reliever during this season. Why would a contending team trade a valuable RP asset?!?!

2) should trade Kendrick for just a reliever.

Thats the main thing, YOT. Howie wont net us what we need. Not because he has low value, but because the teams looking for a guy like him would already be contending, and be more apt to trade prospects instead of mlb ready players.

I still think st louis might be a fit. They need offense (which we have), and theyre deep in pitching (which we need)
