Tough one.  He wasn't good at all this year, and after the trade to Atlanta last year.  A year and a half isn't that long ago for a pitcher to regain their form, but he is 38.  So his shelf life might have gone past the use by date.

At most, minor league deal to see if he has anything left.  But no guarantees on the MLB club.

Yeah I definitely wasn't thinking about a MLB deal.

based on the posts of this board, I'm guessing a lot of AW members keep breaking up with the same 2 or 3 girls and getting back together with them.

the AW member would break up with them for erasing something they DVR'd.  She'd move on, lose twenty pounds, win the megaball and her sister would marry Mike Trout.

I really don't know if I could stomach Downs again.  He's old and was going downhill fast when we traded him for Rasmus.  Minor league deals sounds good, but he's another pitcher who would allow many inherited runners to score.

They lose nothing by signing him and seeing if he can get lefties out in AAA.    I'm of the opinion they should be trying to turn over every one of those rocks before trading for a RP....   As Eric said elsewhere, relievers are notoriously flaky....   We have seen guys like Downs completely act like clowns then turn it around and be lockdown RPs
