I don't know if that was Cron or Disar but you never make the third out at third base.  Especially not with Mike ****ing Trout on deck.  This stuff is so frustrating!

Josh "I'd slide headfirst into 1B again" Hamilton disagrees.

I've been to spring training, and this team practices far less than other teams. Wonder if Scioscia's laid back attitude is to blame for the piss poor fundamentals.

Care to share your statistical analysis on that one?  And it never ceases to amaze me that people think that Scioscia has a laid back attitude.  A more accurate description would be that he is sometimes too controlling, and over manages, or doesn't delegate as much as he should.  I think it's easy to confuse laid back with trying to maintain an even keel.  Managers make far more mistakes when they get too high (over confident) or too low (too negative) in managing their teams.  It's nice to see players get emotionally invested, but managers need to be calm and clear headed in their decision making to be effective, not Terry Collins like which is usually ineffective.

A good example is Bob Melvin of the A's, he is no more emotional than Scioscia.  To a casual observer he looks like he delegates more  than Scioscia, and is less into every pitch.  I don't hear anyone criticizing him as being too "laid back."
