I think today was the opposite problem. Angels got a quick 5-0 lead and CJ was determined to not walk guys and Twins started smoking the ball.

This is exactly it. As annoying as it is, the dude has made a career out of nibbling at the corners. It's annoying as hell, but he gets the job done. Last night's game, is a perfect example of why he needs to dick around the strikezone and annoy the crap out of us to be successful. He had 0 walks in that 2nd inning, he was just catching too much of the plate.
