Winning the series (no way to know what Santiago will bring tonight) would be a hell of a lot better than they looked in Oakland.

I think Trouts salami the other night might be a turning point for the offense, at least I hope so. Sorta feels like it.

There seems to be more life out there, and Bay Area writers have noticed it too, obviously.

It's a marathon and not a sprint.  Personally, I don't want to see the Angels have a Wild Card birth.  That leaves them subject to a one-game playoff, no matter what their record is.  Anything can happen in that format.  The Angels need to get hot, carry it through and hammer that point home this season.

In a best of 5 or 7 series, I like the way this rotation lines up with Weav, Wilson and Richards.  When those guys, especially Richards are pitching up to their abilities, the Angels can beat any team in baseball.

Keep in mind, the A's are the best team in baseball, and if the Angels want to be taken seriously, they need to beat the best.  Last night was an eye-opener for a lot of people.  Garrett Richards can be flat out dominant and completely shut down the best offense in baseball for 7-8 innings. The A's had to make spectacular plays left and right just to keep this one from getting out of hand.  It also showcased the fact that even if yo somehow prevent Trout from hurting you, Hamilton, Pujols, and the rest of the ever growing supporting cast can still hurt you.

Agreed. It's important to get in the A's psyche now. Could really pay off at the end of the season.

22-23-24 Sept... 3 games @ Oakland, and most of Sept is against the west.

good point about the psych, but I think more vice versa. Besting oakland will gain us respect from them, but not sure if it will get in their head.

Constantly not beating them will sure as shit get in ours though.

I dont want to get too far ahead, but weave is going tomorrow. Hes usually very good against oakland. I like our chances (and hoping this just set us up for some momentum)

I hope Weave went straight home and got to bed last night. Up to him to carry the pitching staff tonight and go 8 innings.

Frieri is going to get another chance to back up his bravado, I hope he's able to do it again.

Last night reminds me if that extra inning game last season that seemed to deflate the Angels and boost the A's. let's hope the Angels feel the boost.

Have to admit, most of the Angels/A's games have been pretty exciting baseball.
