The thing about the backswing is that he did it in consecutive at bats, it was super long, and he never looks back at Norris to see if he's OK.

I have no idea, but he did it TWICE, the second one finally knocked him out.   Sorry, the fact that he didnt look to see what/who he hit makes it seem very intentional.

Hitting Norris wasn't an accident.  Machado barely glanced back and showed no concern for the guy.  This after he threw his helmet because he wasn't tagged in a peaceful and loving manner?  I hate bean ball wars, but I don't mind the A's throwing at this fool.  They didn't throw at his head.

Machado just put a target on his back.  This goes beyond him being an idiot.  These were acts intended to purposefully harm other players.  You want to be late for bp or drive your car too fast or play poor fundamental baseball?  Go ahead. 

 

You want to make a point injure people randomly?  good luck. 

 

I wouldn't be surprised if other teams made a point to plunk this guy a few times as well.

What a weird thing to get pissed over. Donaldson's tag was clean. Maybe a bit harder than normal, but Machado tried to jump out of the way and Donaldson had to lunge at him with the glove quickly. It'd be one thing if it was a dumb misunderstanding and everyone moved on, but purposely throwing a bat at another player over something he was wrong about in the first place was pretty chicken shit.

I'm 99% sure he was trying to throw the bat at Abad (even Callaspo is fast enough to move out of the way of it going to 3rd)..it hits Abad in the leg..it fractures something.

The whole sequence and history is just.... weird. I think Machado handled it very poorly and showed some immaturity. Not anything that'll keep him from becoming a ballplayer. He'll learn from it and move on.
