Head first slides are fine if you are sliding into second, third, or home.  Avoiding a tag at first is a reasonable excuse, but that rarely comes into play.

It will be a really big deal if he breaks an arm or something and is gone for a few months.

 

Remember when Hamilton broke his arm diving into home? 2011, not too long ago, and he still can't seem to learn. He's going to keep doing it no matter what.
