Garrett is lightining in a bottle.

 

The Angels pitching staff, as a whole, suffer from control problems, innefficency, high BB rates, etc.., but Garrett Richards is the exception.

 

His ability to throw strikes is rembarkable, and his durability–or rather, ability, to pitch through the 7th or 8th sets him apart from anyone on the Angels pitching staff–hell, he looks like an All Star pitcher.

 

The fact that he doesn't cost $100M or whatever pitchers make, makes him even more valuable in my eyes.

Cool, I'm surprised Chuck Finley never did it with his great stuff . He's the only pitcher in mlb history to strike out 4 batters in an inning 3 separate times. AJ Burnett is the only other pitcher who even did it twice.

I suppose it's fitting -- his last start set the tone for the 4 game losing streak, and he stepped up big in his next start to stop the bleeding.
