Listen, I get where you are coming from but as someone that now has switched to Android I can say one thing.  iOS integrates all of those features far better than Android.  It is integrated at an OS level.  I have had to go through tons of customization and trial and error to get it to work kind of as well.

 

That said, the customization that Android gives in other areas makes it worth it.  I am very happy with my GS5.

Hey, these new changes might be enough to get me to try apple for my next phone.  I will wait and see what the iphone6 looks like and make the decision.

 

Nevermind, I just read that widgets are only in the pull down menu.  I like my widgets on the screen especially my entire month calendar.   

 

I still have the S3.  It takes a lot to get me to upgrade because I just don't really see what a new phone can do for me that mine already can't do besides a better camera.  The better camera is what will get me to upgrade.

I love the people bitching about "oh nice apple, way to copy so-and-so app's 'innovation'"

sending audio snippets as part of an SMS is nothing new. they are just making actually work right.

 

also remember apple has always been about taking what technically works - and just making it better.

they weren't the first personal computer, mp3 player, phone, tablet, music store, set top box, etc.

they just made them all lightyears better.

 

as a connected-home nerd, i am stoked for the homekit stuff.
