Gameday Thread: 6/1/14 Angels @ A's (No Trout)

Recommended Posts

This is actually a good idea. Rest Trout today and tomorrow so we'll get him back out there with Hambone on Tuesday.

Oh and if Ibanez sucks today he may be the one waived when Hamilton comes back.

Something to look for.

I wish I could believe that but history tells me it will be Green or Cron going back down.  I hope that I'm wrong.

Also, a good day or a bad day today shouldn't sway things either way for Ibanez.  We can figure out what to expect from him for the rest of the year.  It's June now so we can't keep comparing him to last year.

This team is so f'n STUPID, I'm sick to my stomach every time right there.  Calhoun's already in scoring position at 2B, what good does it do if he gets to 3rd base with 2 outs right there WHEN RUNNING UPON CONTACT WITH THE NEXT HITTER ANYWAY?!  PATHETIC!!!

just a quick first inning synopsis for those who didn't see it.

Calhoun sees a bunch of pitches and works a walk

Aybar swing at the first pitch he sees after the walk.  The pitch was out of the zone.

He proceeds to sac bunt on the next pitch

Albert rolls over a fastball down the middle, get thrown out at first and Calhoun gets thrown out trying to take third for no reason

Yep.  That about sums it up.

Remember that sorta-good feeling we kinda had after getting six or seven over .500?  Yep, it's gone now.  Amazing how we can play so well against a red-hot Toronto team and then suck balls against Oakland.
