Forgot one.

vs Oakland A's

Cron (has not played yet)

Ibanez .063, 1 hit in 16 AB

Watch him get penciled in for the weekend.

Probably just on Sunday vs. Sonny Gray. I expect to see Cowgill, Green and Cron the first two games in the series.

I am hoping to see the news Ibanez has been giving his unconditional release. This should have been his last series as an Angel.

I believe we will be seeing this when Hamilton is activated.

That's what I'm thinking as well, though there's no reason why they should even be waiting until then. They've given him enough rope, his BA has hovered around .145-.155 for much of the year now

I hope so, but I doubt it based on Jeff Fletcher's comments on the subject.

@JeffFletcherOCR: @HBMike27 I don't think they'll keep him too long going this way, but they won't get rid of him next week. Ask again in 3-4 weeks.

Who goes then when Hamilton comes back? Green? Cron? McDonald? They can't send down Santiago since he's the long man. The only other names I got off the top of my head are Salas and Jepsen, which I'm sure fans wouldn't mind.

If it's one of the first three someone might die.

Sometimes a player gets off to a bad start and you give him some rope and look at trends to see if the last series or few weeks there has been improvement.

Season .154/.268/.282

Last 18 games .159/.345/.250

Last 8 games .174/.269/.348

Last 6 games .176/.222/.353

Nope, no appreciable upswing, no real improvement over the season totals that justify another shot at going 0-for. His OPS+ for the season is 57. and he is a DH, so it is not as though he brings value with his glove. It is time for Dipoto to make that decision to let a guy go that tried to play out one more year than he could.

His triple and ball that he was robbed at the wall on have bought him 3-4 more weeks of playing time.

Sadly, one of Cron/Green will get sent down when Hamilton returns. :(

If raul gets hot, his swing can carry this team.

Yeah, I've seen him go on some long hot streaks for the M's, Royals, Phillies and Yankees.

Why is this thread even necessary?  Is there anyone on earth that doesn't know this already?

What's next?  I say someone work up a Weaver vs Santiago thread

Jeff Mathis carried us for a one-week stretch in the playoffs once. Bring him back, I say.
