Epstein is a bum because in three years he hasn't completely turned around a franchise with a decades-old tradition of losing. I get it.

1.It gives them an extra year of service time if they wait till june.

2.They're rebuilding

3.Mike Olt was a top prospect. It would be incredibly idiotic to give up with only a quarter of a season under his belt.

Eric, I see no reason for the Cubs to start Bryant's service time if the team is not really close to contending. I'd be more surprised if he didn't get the call up next season in mid-Summer when the Cubs core starts to take better shape and he can begin getting the regular playing time in the Majors.

 

I absolutely agree he is a potentially monster talent but he will not help the Cubs win a World Series with the current group they have in place this season. Give him a cup of coffee later this year then start him in early Summer when they Cubs can get the extra year of control.

 

2016 seems like a Cubs target for a season of contention unless they pick up some significant free agents in the upcoming off-season.

Apparently the Cubs horrible decisions are exclusive to the ML club.

Man Ram has been riddled with roid controversy and horrible work ethic. They now want him to mentor their young talent?!?! I officially change my mind about Kris Bryant. They need call him up from AA now before Man Ram gets to coach him.
