I'm pretty sure with the stadium negotiations stalling we may end up with dramatic infrastructure issues soon enough.

Thanks, Selig.

Seriously, Oakland is being ****ed by MLB and the Giants.

The Giants are the biggest douchebags in MLB.  Back when Lurie owned the team and the Giants were struggling, the A's owner (Haas), gave them the rights to move to San Jose if it meant helping out baseball.   Fast forward to present time and the Giants refuse to return those rights to the A's...

Never thought I'd hate a team more than the Dodgers but the MLB cock-block they have been pulling on the A's is about as about as low as it gets.

Wow, I wasn't even aware that this was the issue. That's pathetic.

MLB and mainly Bud Selig are a joke. Selig is a gutless coward who won't stand up to the Giants and tell them how it's going to be. MLB should be the ones that decide where new stadiums are built. It's their league and if a team doesn't like it, tough.

The NFL on the other hand has no issues building new stadiums and they don't force teams to play in old, crumbling facilities. Say what you want about Roger Goddell, but he doesn't get pushed around by team owners when it comes to how he runs the league.

Chargers and Raiders play in stadiums every bit as bad (in some cases exactly as bad) as the A's do.

You could say that the Raiders and A's play in a very similar stadium.

As long as the world has LA gang bangers and Dodgers fans the Raiders will sell out games.

I am not sold that San Jose can support a major league baseball team even if the Giants allowed the move and relocated their minor league team. No doubt they need a new stadium but to simply blame it on the Giants as to why they haven't moved yet is just telling a small part of the story.

The NFL isn't forcing them to play in those stadiums though. You can blame the teams/cities for not coming up with a solution to those old stadiums. Goodell has been very open about wanting to get a new stadium built in San Diego.

Well you can blame the team/cities in the East Bay (A's territory) for not coming up with a solution to its old stadium. Selig has been open about wanting the A's to get a new stadium built in Oakland.

If the Chargers or any other team want to relocate to another market they are subject to relocation fees. Rumor has it the NFL may be asking for $200 million (shattering the old record) from the Chargers if they move to LA. This is a pretty big hindrance keeping them from moving to a new stadium in a nearby market and forcing them to stay in their old stadium. I'd bet the $200 million is exaggerated but even half that is a lot of money to pay when trying to build a stadium. With the way the NFL revenue sharing works it's harder to make up those fees for individual teams than it is for baseball teams.

so what you're trying to say is that the Giants are a lot smarter than the A's

so if they had a new baseball stadium in Oakland how many fans would they average every night? How about 5 years after it opens?
