Grant Green is too good to be sent down

Recommended Posts

IMO it is clear he has nothing left to learn being in AAA. He needs to get his 300-400 MLB at bats this year and figure it out. He's playing real well which is an added bonus for him. I just pray to God Sosh/Dipo don't send him down once we get healthy.

He won't be. Stewart will be gone from this team

Green is being used all over the field and looks like their super utility guy who can play 4-5 positions

I totally forgot this guy was even on our roster.  Remember when him and Ibanez were the middle of our line up? Good times.

Yeah, it seems like Ibanez and Stewart should go. Keep a bench of Green (2B/LF), Cowgill (all OF), McDonald (SS/3B), Navarro (1B and token lefty), and a backup catcher. Also, one of these guys would have to DH each game. If I were running things, that'd be Cowgill once Hamilton and Calhoun get back.

Still don't undertand why they haven't tried him there....seems to be worth a try....thought that would be a better option than a terrible trade for Freese...

He played 5 games at 3B in Salt Lake.  But right now he and Efren Navarro are all we have to play LF.

Disagree Troll Daddy. Callaspo was an avg defender and a below avg hitter as a third baseman. He was never going to be a difference maker. Now if Green can continue to hit and play avg defense, then he could be a difference maker. Every successful team needs someone to succeed in that role.
