I hear ya, but the Kendrys injury was such a freak accident and is unlikely to happen twice, especially to the same team.

I always assume that the Angels are the least likely to have an issue with this because you can still see that they give space and allow the runner to land before the mob. I just look at it as practice for the big pile in October.

If you watch a replay you'll notice Scioscia run into the pile and start breaking up the mob trying to get guys off of Trout. I've never seen him move so fast.

I didn't see it at the time, but on the replay I cringed. He turned sideways a bit which I imagine might increase the risk.

No, they let the players do whatever they please. Hamilton said with a laugh that he would probably do the exact same thing again that got his thumb torn up.
