Remind me again how going 8-15 against everyone else = contending????

Oakland is 10-12 vs everybody but us, Minnesota, and Houston. Better than 8-15, yes. But not by much. 2.5 games. Which is basically what we are behind by. If we can increase our win rate against good teams by 3 games over the remaining season then we'd be ahead. Or maybe we increase by two and Oakland decreases by one. Or them down all three. Who knows. But it's close. And possible.

Calm down. It's baseball.

Isn't that what good teams are supposed to do? Beat up on inferior teams.

We just happen to be pretty middle of the road right now so the better teams are beating up on us.

Lets see where we are when Hamilton, DDLR, and Calhoun come back.

that type of stat has very little meaning this early in the season.  if by the ASB they're playing that poorly against good teams, then we'll know there is a problem.  For now, it's just baseball.

Still not worried right now. If they can stay healthy, they're going to contend. If a starting pitcher goes down then they will be in trouble.

The team is staying close and are off to a better start than the last few years. Calhoun and Hamilton are close to returning and the pen will have some more reinforcements shortly

 

They haven't hit their stride yet.

yes.  if we lost a couple more games to bad teams and won a couple more games vs. good teams, our record would be much much better overall. 

 

this team has the record it does  because they can't hold a lead and they suck at hitting in high leverage situations.  As a result, they are 2-8 in 1 run games. 

 

They are either going to fix it and become a very good team in the playoff mix, or they are going to waste an opportunity.

Because you're supposed to win against the bad teams?  Because it's still early in the season and we're only 3 games out of first?
