Josh Hamilton & DDLR Updates

Recommended Posts

DDLR: Dane De La Rosa (shoulder) threw a scoreless rehab inning Sunday at Triple-A Salt Lake.

De La Rosa walked a batter but was able to work around the threat. He'll probably make two more rehab appearances before rejoining the Angels' bullpen. The right-hander has been out since mid-April with a shoulder issue.

Hamilton: Josh Hamilton (thumb) is expected to begin taking live batting practice Friday in Arizona.

Hamilton needed surgery in mid-April for a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb and is likely to miss another 3-4 weeks. He is currently rehabbing at the Angels' spring training complex in Tempe.

@Alden_Gonzalez: De La Rosa had a scoreless inning in AAA yesterday. Velocity wasn't as high as a couple days ago, "but still a step forward," Sciosica said.

How is it a step forward if his velocity was down?

Swap Pujols and Hamilton. More steals for Trout. Fewer GIDPs for Pujols.
