Did he save Scioscia's life once?    Why else would an org keep a mediocre reliever in its' org for TWELVE YEARS????

Jeff Mathis (or Robb Quinlan) gave him copies of the incriminating photos of Mike Scioscia.

Over time, we will find out if Santiago is capable of getting outs the 3rd time through a lineup. I just hope it doesn't cost this team a playoff spot trying to find that out. I understand we have no one in the minors to replace him, outside of Grube, but DiPoto better be looking around the league for a veteran that is capable of being a more solid #5 starter for 2 reasons.

1) so that the Angels have a better chance of winning every 5th day

2) to make the bullpen better because Santiago would do that instantly.

You do realize that we've seen the same crap from Jepsen in the bigs since 2006 and in the organization since 2002, right? And that it hasn't changed? At some point, usually before 13 years in the organization, it should be assumed that what he's done is what he is. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. That is the Angels when it comes to Jeppy.

With Santiago, he's young, and he can get better. While I believe his ultimate role is as a middle/long reliever, there is *some* chance that he gets better. Not so with Jepsen.

I wish Kevin Jepsen well in his personal life but as far as his Angels career is concerned it is time for it to end and for him to move on to another team. He simply can't handle the reliever role with men on base or in scoring position. His role should strictly be middle relief/7th inning duty starting a clean inning.
