New Poker Podcast - Three Sheets To The River

Recommended Posts

For those of you out there in AW.com land that are poker players or like poker, we've just launched a new podcast called "Three Sheets To The River". It's only a half hour podcast that will be released weekly.

It's a round-table discussion on the big poker news stories of the week as well as a sit-down one-on-one interview with someone in the Poker Community.

AW.com's own resident Poker Superstar Derek is one of the panel as well.

If you're interested in taking a listen, head over to PokerTelegraph.com where it's the top Story presently.

Also, let us know if you have any feedback, either by contacting us on Twitter @PokerTelegraph or on Facebook at Facebook.com/PokerTelegraph.

This week's Topics are California-centric with the merger of Tribal Casinos/Local LA Casinos/Pokerstars taking centerstage, but we also spoke with Marco Valerio who attended the Legislative Hearing in Sacramento regarding online poker in California.

Anyway, enjoy!

We should be available through ITunes and Stitcher by the end of next week.

With the World Series of Poker kicking off next Tuesday, we should have a ton of new interviews coming up with some notable players.  If there's a player that you'd like us to interview, either post the name here or email us at feedback@threesheetstotheriver.com and we'll try to get them on if they are in the Rio this summer.  Just to warn you right now, though, Phil Ivey may be the toughest "get" in the poker world, so while we will certainly be trying to get him to give us the interview, don't hold out a lot of hope for that one, at least this year.  But who knows?  We may just get him to come on before the series is over.

Cool. I dug the first one you guys did.

Guests:

Mike Leah

Calvin Anderson

Ben Wilfonsky

David Emmons

Those may be tough, although GoLeafsGoEh is super nice and friendly. As for celeb types, I would probably listen to Galfond explain theory of paint drying. Shaun Deeb would be cool too since he has been out of the lime light sans SCOOP time.

Brandon, I will try to get one with Mike Leah.  I don't really know the other guys (and I know more pro's than 99.99999% of the people I work with).

Angels_Made_Me_Drink:  I'll try to get another one.  Until then, here's the first one I did.   http://www.pokertelegraph.com/wpt/2013/09/12/phil-laak-interview/  Hold onto you hat for this one, we ended up deep down the rabbit hole.

For the most part they are Internet pros, even Leah.

Anderson has been the top ranked online player at P5 for maybe the past 2-3 years.

Wilfonsky is an online guy, but has live success and has been on WPT's, etc.

Emmons is an online guy I used to play a lot with, but really is kind of a mini WCGRider where he worked his way up. Just a selfish request because I like his play a lot and just want to hear some insight. Last I remember he is a Tournament Poker Edge pro. Don't know his live winnings, but really consistent online guy that used to consistently crush Lock Poker after black friday.

Cal and Leah may be tough as they are bigger names, especially with Leah's recent success and now part Of Ivey's site. Wilfonsky is known, but now that I think about it Emmons might be too under the radar to bring traffic.

Either way I dig the podcast.

FYI, as a follow up on this.

We had some technical issues with the feed (it was on our end, not ITunes and Stitcher) where the shows were not updating properly to those services.  We corrected the issue and those shows should be available in their entirety there so that you can subscribe.

Also, for those of you that are interested in checking it out, we will be covering a $100,000 High Roller Event today at the Aria.  They are saying they expect a $2-$3 Million prizepool, but there are some of us that think they are lowballing the estimates and there could be as many as 50 players (the Aria tournament director is keeping 5 tables open just in case which, on a Friday night in Las Vegas, is something you just don't do unless you're sure you're going to need all of them).

If anyone has any questions, comments or suggestions of things they'd like to see in the coverage (other than photos, it's a no photography coverage), please PM me here and I will attempt to address it ASAP, which may actually be a couple of hours, since I'm going to be flying solo tonight so I apologize in advance.

Sweet. Good to know the update.

My only suggestion is mic consistency, whether that be simply have the round table speak closer to the mic or at consistent volumes.....there are times where it has that someone talking across the room low sound and others are directly over the mic.
