Cron coming up?

CJ wasn't in the lineup today. Is he getting the call over Green? DH platoon with Raul?

Woudn't mind seeing it at all.  Raul has been clutch with several hits but his mid .500 ops has to get better to be a DH.  I think Cron could easily give us that production......pretty much anybody in the league other than Freese is giving that type of production.

 

Right now I wouldn't mind Conger DHing a couple of games.  Kind of a waste to only play a guy hitting with a mid .900 ops every three games.

Scioscia doesn't like Conger so he plays Iannottrying.  Conger should be the starting C.

 

I am not sure Cron can do much at the MLB level.  He still isn't patient enough.

Pretty sure Raul is done.  Faded horribly down the stretch last year and has been abysmal so far this season.  Unless he turns a major corner in the upcoming weeks he should be an off the bench bat at best.

He hit .158 in April 2013, then turned it around in May 2013 (hitting almost .300 in that month).  I think we should wait and see on this one.

Between Cron and Green, I guess it depends on who Scioscia is ready to start taking ABs away from - Shuck or Ibanez. My guess is he'll favor the veteran.

I can't see Scioscia giving up on Ibañez already. I think Cron should be called up because he should be easily able to do better than what Raul is doing right now.

I would give Ibanez 2 more weeks to get things going. If he's still hitting under .200 then he should probably be moved to a bench role.

Green better be in that f'n outfield over Shuck. If they could make exceptions for Trumbo's D in the outfield, Green is like Jim Edmonds in the OF compared to Trumbo.

I'd have no problem with that. He'd be a good left handed late inning pinch hitter that could occasionally come up big for us. If we had a stronger pen that didn't require 7 it would be easier to hold that spot for Raul.

I'm pleasantly suprised by the somewhat proactive approach management is taking concerning player production this year as opposed to years past. Better late than never I guess.

As far as I can see CJ Cron is not on the 40 man roster so I doubt he would be their first choice for a callup.

The past 10 days Iannetta and Conger has been basically splitting the duties, which I think is fine.

I also think Conger or Iannetta would be decent fits at DH.
