Keep Shuck in the OF and DH Green. Shuck is better than Ibanez and Boesch. He is also a better defender than Green.

Green is coming up is to take away AB's from Shuck. The guy has no business getting AB's at the major league level. Start Green in the OF and DH Ibanez

last year, we saw the best that Shuck would ever give this team and it resulted in a bees dick more than replacement level production.

In all fairness, I could see a chance for him of being a tick above 2013 with at least a slightly improved glove and walk rate.

But that still leaves him as a pretty meh 4th outfielder.

Personally I'd like to have Cron and Green up here. A platoon of Cron and Ibanez at DH and Green starting in LF the majority of the time. If Ibanez continues to suck, you start Cron and save Ibanez for a late inning pinch hit appearance or against righties he's fared against.

If you send Shuck down you could do that, but I don't see Scioscia doing that.

Who do you think makes these decisions though. Does Dipoto have the authority to promote and demote whoever he wants?

What upside? Shuck has no power and poor plate discipline. And I swear if you cite his batting avg last year again I will add a pin to my Mickey Hatcher voodoo doll here.

So you think having Green in left and IBANEZ at DH is better than Shuck in left and Green at DH?

not sporting a 2.5% bb rate.  He would have to hit .300+ to have any value whatsoever as a corner OFer with an obp like that coupled with his amazing lack of power.

Yes, I will take the guy with 19 years of major league experience coming off a year where he also struggled mightily in April but then tore it up in May plus Green who can play more positions than Shuck, over just about anything that has to do with continuing to put a guy whose OPS looks like Erick Aybar's SLG % in the lineup.
