I went to high school with a guy named Josh Paul, who also played baseball, primarily as a catcher--but he's not the Josh Paul who played for the Angels.  Odd...Or maybe not.  But it's probably more interesting than this dude getting called up.

You know you are in trouble.  When the Dodgers don't want him.  The Marlins don't want him.  But the Angels call him up.  

 

Hope he does well.  But looking at his minor league numbers.  A reliever in the mid 4 ERA and up, with flashes of a high 3 ERA, and a WHIP in the 1.4 area at best getting into a low 1.3.  Doesn't exactly reinforce my faith in the pen.

Player #32 to reach the big league club this year, #33 to follow soon.  On the depth chart Josh Paul seems to be somewhere around #45-#50.

He's probably another nomad BP arm that will send us at least 2 games back from leading the AL West.

Scioscia will keep putting him in late, close games for about 20 games; eventually he'll randomly disappear and never return like the countless BP nomads who have come and gone...
