In an ideal world there would be a lefty to go with the 2 of them to work matchups in the middle innings and minimize their exposure. Maybe even 2 lefties.

If this team can just hang on and play .500 until Hamilton and Calhoun come back, and if a couple of Bedrosian/Morin/Alvarez step up and help the big club, playoffs are a realistic possibility. Certainly the offense is good enough, and the starting rotation has been plenty good enough so far.

And we have probably been overly harsh toward Kohn the last few years. The guy has a career ERA+ of 107, so he has been a bit better than average (and substantially better than Jeppy).

Yeah and coming off TJ surgery before last season he gets a pass for 2013, yet he still was reliable at times and posted a sub 4 ERA.
