I keep flashing back to 1968 when the pricks captured the USS Pueblo and got away with it. 81 sailors were beaten and kept for 11 months.  They still have our ship to this day, made it a museum.  Might be one reason they keep poking us with a Sharpe stick and not thinking we'll  bite back.  I take them seriously.  I know it's a bluff now, but somethings going on in that starving nation.  Power struggle maybe?

those videos are great. sad for the people though. propaganda can be very, very effective on a populace (e.g., triumph of the will, which is amazing)

 

i dont think the issue with n korea is the threat of attack, but what happens when the regime inevitably falls apart?

they have nuclear weapons afaik, but no launch systems. if we thought it was hard running around looking for nukes in iraq its going to be 100x harder in n korea where we have little to no information. that's a scary thought.

Personally, I don't think North Korea does anything without China approving it.  Hence, I believe China is behind much of this.

Austin is awesome, that's why. It's easily one of the best cities in the nation. They don't want us to be happy. Austin makes people happy.

On a serious note, I don't really get why we had to fly those bombers over the penninsula.  Why provoke them?  Just because we can destroy them doesn't mean they can't do some damage first.
