No they aren't better players but they might be better bench players.

Bench players wouldn't be getting multiple starts like Sosh does.  That is my whole issue.  They get vet playing time, not bench player playing time.  If Long and Green were the bench players they wouldn't be starting nearly as much. 

 

It's like the chinese water torture with Sosh and Dipoto dropping water on me.

No, I did not say that.  I said multiple starts.  And a platoon player is much different than a bench player.

Grant Green didn't exactly tattoo the ball with the MLB team last season, why does anyone think he will this season?

 

Green got off to a cold start with the Angels.

 

In July Green went 0-15 after getting called up. 

 

Since then he was better. In August he hit .293, in September he hit .260 but his slugging pct. went up (.440). 

 

He bulked up in the offseason and he's driving the ball to all fields this spring and with the Bees.

Matt Long plays all 3 outfield positions.

 

He hits for power & avg.

 

He bats left handed.

 

So let's call up Shuck! 

 

It's time we put Long out there to see what we have.

I don't understand why Cowgill and stewart even made the team.

 

The past two seasons Ian stewart has hit worse than jeff mathis..

Last year cowgill played in 73 games and had a .594 OPS.

 

 

 

why people are defending these moves is beyond me.

 

This offense is very veteran heavy as it is. Why not bring in some youth to maybe spark the offense?

The A's seem to do it every single year.

Why wasn't Long given the call to replace Hamilton?

I have no idea, but once they decided to keep a lefty in Stewart they were going to keep a right handed outfielder.
