Russia 'withheld' information on Tsarnaev

Recommended Posts

When it isn't your land.

Like if the US decide to take over Okinowa just because they have a bunch of troop there already.  Crimea was part of Ukraine.  This is not debatable.

The only qualm I have with this is that the Crimeans voted to annex themselves. Just because a coup in Kiev won't recognize the vote as legitimate, doesn't mean it did not happen.

The vast majority (something like 90%) of the citizens of Crimea voted by referendum to go with Russia, not to mention the legally and democratically voted president of the Ukraine was "illegally" forced out by a coup that was planned and orchestrated by the US.  None of that is debatable as well

Russia has done much more in accordance with international laws than the US has done in this particular escalation.

The vast majority of the south voted to leave the union.  That wouldn't have made it ok for Britain to come into the south.

C'mon MT, that's a straw man if I ever saw one. It was completely different circumstances. It's not as if DC had been taken over by a political coup sponsored by the French and Miami was Great Britain's primary Naval Base in the Caribbean.

The two situations aren't even comparable.

Are you kidding me?  Crimea was Ukrainian soveirgn land.  Regardless if Russia had troops there or not.   I'm dumbfounded anyone outside of Russia would justify what they have done.  Do they have reasons?  Yes.  Have we helped make this bed?  Absolutely?  Has the U.S. done things like this or maybe worse?  of course!

However, none of those things justifies one country taking over a part of another country by force.  Ever.

This thread is not supposed to be about the Ukraine. You can take these arguments to the Good Times thread and flap your gums there all you want.

This is supposed to be about international cooperation to curtail terrorism and one country witheld pertinent information that could gave prevented the massacre in Boston.

It also implicates the mother residing in Canada as a co conspirator. She was very vocal during tge search that her sons were not responsible and later demanding revenge.
