Langston is now speculating it's his shoulder.

 

We'll have to wait to get something official.

On the replay he didn't look like jammed the thumb.

He popped up pretty quick and didn't give any indication of injury.

Shoulder would make more sense based on the replay

MS just indicated that he couldn't grip a bat and that it's already swollen.  not good gentlemen and ladies.  not good.

Sosh states that Hamilton could not grip bat because thumb is swollen. Had to pinch hit for him in critical ninth inning AB.

 

Hamilton slid into first base head first.

Bullshit, it is instincts.  Instincts if you are stupid, maybe.  Some players never do this.  Actually, most.  Too many do it, though, and it is nuts.  Were they not taught as kids not to do this?  I'm not sure if I was or not, but it is logical.... sliding slows you down... you can run past the bag...   why do it if you aren't avoiding a tag?  Because you are stupid.  Mistakes happen, but it happens too much... and the same players do it often.
