F'n Corporan breaks up the SHO.    But a CG is unlikely anyway, since the pitch count is up to over 110 with the 9th inning still to go.

Why did Scioscia leave CJ in?  He could have left with 7 shutout innings and under 100 pitches.  He just got taxed for well over 100 pitches now.

I just prefer not taxing the starters so much when we already have a big lead.  7 shutout innings should be good enough when you are up by 7.

idk. i feel like pitcher exhaustion is more than just pitch count. its a bit painful to see his pitch count get that high, i totally agree, and my gut agrees with you, but its really hard to say from this far away.
