Yankees put Mark Teixeira on the DL

Teixeira only has roughly $65 million left on his deal through the 2016 season. Much better than many current deals across MLB -- even if he never plays in another game.

Yeah I guess you're right. He was part of the WS team and he's performed quite well racking 30-40 HRs a year. He's pretty much a less healthy albeit more consistent version of Trumbo.

At least he's managed to accomplish things during his contract unlike someone...ahem

Anybody missing Tex?  LOL.  Sure glad that his wife wanted to go back to the East coast.  We sure got the better end of that deal.  It was apparent that the Yankees would have used the draft pick that they forfeited to us to sign Tex on Trout.  Instead we got to draft Trout.  That was good happenings for the Angels, unlike some of their recent moves over the last 4 years.

This is often repeated but not really accurate.  Trout was #1 on the board that year, and had they not received the pick for Teixeira they would have still drafted Trout and not Grichuk.

I guess I could see that.  Hope they would be that smart.  Have they actually ever admitted the fact that they would have drafted Trout if they didn't have the 2nd pick?
