Boomer's an idiot.

 

C-Sections are surgical procedures, so it's not like there's no risk.

 

However, there seem to be more than there used to be, because of the ability to schedule the birth. Not sure that's necessarily a good thing.

as the husband of a wife expecting any day now, I find it incredibly irritating that anyone would try and criticize Murphy for this.  Most men in "normal" professions take at least a week or two off to be with their new child and help out.  That he's only taking 3 days is already a sacrifice.  As for a C-section, it's major surgery and something you try and avoid at all possible.  Makes the hospital stay and recovery period longer, and carries more risk.

Boomer's a dinosaur, and the US is really backwards when it comes to parental leave. I'm not sure about paternal, but in many Western European countries mothers get three YEARS of maternity leave. But that's too socialist for us hardworking 'mericans who would rather see our taxes go to unnecessary military spending and corporate tax breaks.
