I've done a little. It's really overwhelming when you first fire it up. I think I just accepted random dudes PvP invites and did one mission with some other dude that was funny because neither of us knew how to gain acess to some security gate. My dude is a level 5 still as I only messed around for a little bit one day.

 

My PS3 burned out and I was offline the whole time I was playing, so I lost everything and am now playing through again to have everything saved. My other half despises the intro with the sirens and gunshots by now. I don't even play much, but she can't believe that someone can only play this one game.

My PS3 bit the dust so I never really got much further than the intro questline.

I played for several hours and couldn't really get into it. The story was fairly interesting, but I didn't find the main missions to be very fun and the side quests had me traveling across the map to perform mundane tasks.

It definitely is. I just kept pulling up the phone and joining missions. Eventually you'll get in with a solid group and it gets pretty fun. Also keeps you out of free roam, which lets you choose to stay away from microphone screeching kids.

They ruined this game with GTA Online unfortunately.
