Possible Trade Porn: Blanton to Atlanta

Braves have their issues with Medlen and Beachy out for the year. Then they have Minor and Ervin who won't be ready until mid-April. On top of that, they just released Freddy Garcia. As of now their rotation looks like this:

Teheran

Alex Wood

David Hale

Gus Schosser

No fifth starter.

They're going to need more depth badly if they're going to compete this year. Hale and Wood will be on inning caps as well. If we eat close to all of Blanton's salary, we might actually be able to get something for him. We've already dealt with the Braves a few times the past couple years.

I would love a Blanton for Joey Terdoslovic trade. He would round out our bench nicely as a better fielding, less power version of Trumbo.

I'd be 100% Yes! Yes! Yes! if the Halos somehow swung that trade, and not just because he's yet another LB St. alum. 

He had a .926 OPS in the IL in 2013, and was the Braves #15 prospect before that breakthrough.

Yeah... the Braves are one of the smarter orgs out there, this ain't happening.  Getting anything valuable for Blanton will be basically impossible given his wonderful Spring performance, on top of his disgraceful 2013 campaign.

Seriously.  Who is the absolute dead-last guy on the Braves depth chart.  No, not that guy... he's too good.  I would take that guy's ugly step brother who doesn't even play baseball in return, if the Braves would take Blanton and pay him the major league minimum (we pick up the rest).
