A little concerned about Freese

Yeah, just need to keep him healthy. He shoudl be able to give them average production at 3B as long as he stays on the field. 15-18 HR, .270 BA, average D. They could do worse at 3B

I guess it's just because I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but I'm not really disappointed or worried.

 

I was hoping to see him continue to get on base -- he's done that.  I was expecting weak to middling defense, so that's not been a shocker.  I didn't expect better than a 10-15 HR guy, that still seems likely IMO.

 

In short.... the AL average for 3B last year was .260/.321/.418.  If Freese can give us an OBP over .350 and be league average at everything else, I'm cool with it.  Anything above that will be gravy.

I wouldn't worry about it. 

 

He's going to hit 20-25 HR if healthy by season end. 

 

He is averaging 15 HR for every 162 games and has never hit more than 20.

Freese .265, 65-75 RBI's and 10-15 HR's is about what I expect.

 

Really looking for what he does in clutch situations. Key hits at crucial times in the game.

I didn't expect much from him at all so I won't really be disappointed if he has a "down" season.

I don't care if his hits are singles all season, as long as he helps us win ballgames.
