GDT and Lineups 3/23 vs Tribe

Recommended Posts

The Angels have allowed the 3rd fewest runs in the Cactus League, and the only two teams to allow fewer are the Dodgers and Dbacks who each played fewer games.

Just saying.

I like hearing this. Good defense and pitching will do that.

There is legitimately not much to gripe about this spring outside of Blanton and maybe Ibanez.  Pujols looks healthy and has been on fire the last week, Hamilton looks like his calf is fine and has been hitting since coming back, Trout is Trout, Howie's hitting .400, Iannetta has been mashing, and many of our relievers have had a great spring.

Hopefully this carries into the beginning of the season.

Bullpen to start season = Frieri, Smith, Jepsen, Lyon, Kohn, Salas, and a lefty?

Let's hope that Burnett's setback is temporary, and not typical of recent year Halos setbacks, and that DDLR will be ready by mid-April.

Fortunately, they have a bunch of Thursdays off to start the season.

That could definitely be it, with that lefty spot seemingly being pretty much Maronde's. Moran and Burnett are hurt, Rapada and Boshers are already in minor league camp, and it didn't sound like the team viewed Alvarez as a potential lefty reliever.

Only thing different I could see is if they wanted to drop someone like Kohn in favor of a guy who gives them the potential for a little more length rather than another 1-ish inning guy.

In all fairness though, the last of those posts was from 10 days ago.   He did start off slow for the first 10 days or so, before coming on strong this past week.

I hope he is the healthiest he's been since 2010, as has been implied.   If so, it could be an interesting season for Pujols.
