35 HR would equate to a much higher slugging percentage. In a full season's AB's, with say 30 doubles, That's going to be around .525-.550 SLG.

The Pirates payroll is about $79 million. They should have plenty of room to add Morales if they are willing to let go of their draft pick. They did well last season so they have the 24th pick, something they could let go of and not worry they are missing out on a sure bet player.

The draft pick isn't the problem, it's Morales' asking price. It's been reported that Pittsburgh doesn't want to spend something in the range of $10M for a first baseman.

Currently Morales is out of a job and would field almost any offer at this point.

If that was the case, Morales would have a job right now. Boras has already said that Morales is willing to wait until after the draft in order to secure a multi-year deal.
