A shoutout is due to golf's "minor league" tour. The Web.com Tour is now the only way to obtain a PGA Tour card. There is no more Q-school. Fifty cards will be awarded at the end of the season. 

 

Jon Curran was brilliant yesterday in Brasil. A course-record 61, 10-under par, with eight straight birdies on the back nine.

That is pretty cool. I dig watching the last few weeks of the web.com tour. Guys playing for their card on either tour is almost as exciting as the homestretch of a tight tournament.

It is not the only way. You can do what spieth did and compete in pga events and earn your card on the tour.

Tank, although you could not take advantage of that route, you definitely paved the way for guys like tiger, Phil, Sergio, spieth and others

Bill Lunde just made a hole-in-one and is -8 with five holes to go.

59 Watch at the Stonebrae Classic in Hayward. Cameron Wilson is -7 through 12 holes on the par-70 course.

 

He needs four birdies in the last six holes to do it.

Cameron Wilson was the 2014 NCAA individual champion. He graduated from Stanford in June. He's tearing up the course today.

No, he bogeyed the next two holes right after I posted, and settled for a 64.
