As I remember Garrett was lights out last ST also.

I really wanted garret in last years opening day rotation. Maybe he wasn't ready but with what Owen did to us every fifth day, I would have rather gone rough some growing pains with Richards. Owen = Blanton. As in Owen one. Owen two. Owen three. Owen four. All the way through Owen eleven if I recall. Before finishing two and fourteen. Maronde gave them nothing to hit in the 8th. Just got home from work and turned on game.

Yes, he did and he still didn't make the rotation.

He is a similar style pitcher to Justin Masterson (dial it up to 96/97, having a great sinker, just some control issues).

Masterson finally broke through in 2013 to finish 8th in Ks plus 1st in GB/FB ratio, and had a solid season overall.

If Richards had pitched just 15 more MLB innings in 2013, he would have been right at the top with Masterson in GB/FB ratio at around 3/2.
