I'm in the market for a new router to go with my DOCSIS 3 modem I finally upgraded to. I was going through various routers and I'm really interested in this one. Does anyone have it or any experience with it? If so, how is it?

Personally I would get one of the two AC routers.  AC is the newest wifi band so in the next couple years you will see most everything adopt it.  It has been on the consumer market for about a year now.  Only buy the Apple router if you have Apple products, they tend to be picky about what they support.  You are over paying otherwise.

The asus is badass if you want to go non-apple. Their "dark knight" N66U was a sweet router.

I do use Apple products.  Mainly just my iPhone and AppleTV.  However, the router will be used for more than just those.  I run my X-Box through it and my girlfriend runs her laptop through it which is an Asus.

 

I'm definitely looking for an AC router, which is what took me to the Apple one.  I rather spend the money now rather than wait a year and then have to buy another router that supports it.

The Netgear is the best one on the market.  When you look at speed tests and functionality, the Apple router falls well short.

Yeah I won't knock the nighthawk - I know folks love it. It's a beast.

Also Asus routers since dark knight have been great.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of those three.

The biggest benefit of the Apple router, is really what it was built for, it is immediately and seamlessly compatible with Apple products, almost no setup required.
