Snyder hopes to catch on with Halos

 

The Angels' PR staff printed out three-page bios of Snyder to distribute to the media Tuesday. The first bullet point under the "career summary" section reveals why the Angels wanted Snyder so badly: His .9976 career fielding percentage is the highest by a catcher in Major League history over a minimum of 500 games.

I don't have a problem with Snyder, unless Scioscia decides that he's found another Mathis and starts sitting Ianetta.....

The more I think about the Snyder signing, the less I really care. He's not a good baseball player, but neither are most backup catchers. And I do think Conger's throwing troubles are a serious problem. I mostly just wish that the team had a better alternative to Conger than Chris Snyder. So hopefully Iannetta stays healthy, and if not hopefully Conger can actually throw baseballs well at some point.

 

But seriously, a 3 page bio of Chris Snyder?

Exactly my fear. This is a Scioscia type catcher, all field and no hit.
