Putin has just completely outplayed Obama once again. This situation would be comical if it weren't so damn sad. Russia has virtually annexed Crimea despite our president's empty threats.

What's funny is that the people living there want to be a part of Russia, not the Ukraine. Obama just makes himself look like a complete fool drawing imaginary red lines while Putin crosses them and laughs in his face.

It's really heating up now. Putin has given Ukrainian forces a deadline to surrender or face an assault.

Everyone knows I'm no Obama fan, but I'm really trying to grasp what exactly he's supposed to do here.  He received crappy intel from our own intelligence.  I really think it's time to revamp that entire thing.

 

Regardless I think its Putin who is really going to be screwed here.  Its an unpopular move in Russia, its an unpopular move around the world, its messing with his own economy.  He isn't some badass.  He is scrambling to make himself look like one and I believe it will blow up in his face.  The only thing I think Obama is culpable for here is not recognizing this as a solid possiblity of occuring.

Putin didn't figure on the Russian stock market dropping 10% yesterday. That hurt a lot of his wealthy and corrupt friends.

 

He's starting to pull back a little on the invasion.

For the record, the only Russian I know is a guy who came to the states right before the curtain fell.  He now goes back to Russia 3 or 4 times a year as a missionary. 

 

I know its a small sample size, but it says not godless.
