I watched "silent movie" recently and thought, he's just so under appreciated today.

I guess I'm getting old.

I didn't know who he was until they showed his face on the news. I only knew him as the coach in Grease and the Keno guy that died at the end of Vegas Vacation.

He and Imogene Coca were every bit as funny as Hope and Crosby.

I loved how in the one driving scene he referred to Rooney's and Hackett's characters as " that dentist and the one with the marbles in his mouth".

One of the classic comedic movies ever

Only Carl Reiner is left now from Your Show of Shows, and is also one of only a select few left from Mad, Mad, Mad World (along with Jerry Lewis, Marvin Kaplan, and Stan Freberg). Edie Adams was maybe my first crush, along with Elizabeth Montgomery. I was captivated as a kid watching Edie do those Muriel cigars commercials with the "Spend a little dime on me." song that were played during the NBA telecasts in the mid-1960s.

R.I.P. Sid. You set the bar really high early on for on screen comedy.
